UCC 3-Semester Sandwich Courses and Centres for 2024/2025
UCC 3-Semester Sandwich Courses and Centres.

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) offers a variety of sandwich programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Among these are the Three-Semester and Five-Semester Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programmes, specifically designed to support basic school teachers with a Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) in advancing to a Bachelor’s degree through the sandwich mode.

The UCC Three-Semester Sandwich Undergraduate Programmes are aimed at helping teachers with a DBE qualification obtain a B.Ed. degree without the need for a study leave, either with or without pay. The programme, offered in collaboration with the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) and developed by UCC’s Institute of Education, is designed to provide flexible access to higher education. It takes place during the long vacation periods when teachers and students are on break.

This format allows participants to complete their studies over three long vacation periods, with six weeks of active engagement each vacation.

Courses Offered in the 3-Semester Programme

The UCC Three-Semester Sandwich Programme offers three major courses:

  • B.Ed. (Post Diploma) Early Childhood Education
  • B.Ed. (Post Diploma) Primary Education
  • B.Ed. (Post Diploma) Junior High School (JHS) Education

These courses are available at UCC’s satellite campuses and centres across the country.
